The Autumn Tag

It's the best time of the year again! Except the weather's been such a tease lately. It's cold in the mornings and burning hot in the afternoon like seriously I just want my layers and starbucks it's not too much to ask for, is it?

Autumn is my favorite season, and so to celebrate, I did the Autumn Tag!

Favorite thing about autumn?

I think it all comes down to the change in weather. It gets cooler, which makes it more enjoyable to layer clothes, drink warm coffee, or snuggle in cozy blankets reading a book or watching a movie.

Favorite drink?

Definitely Starbuck's White Mocha with no whip. I should probably try the Pumpkin Spice Latte but I'm not a fan of Pumpkin and White Mocha is just too good to replace.

Favorite scent/candle?

I'm not a specific (candle) scent person, like if it smells good, it smells good. But coffee is definitely my favorite scent. It just smells amazing.

Go to moisturizer?

Definitely the Body Shop Body Butters. I use Vitamin E and it just makes my skin feel great.

Go to colors on the eyes?

Definitely darker, more saturated colors like mahogany, pomegranate, wine, and deep purples and blues.

Favorite music/band or singer?

This is honestly such a hard choice, but I definitely like to listen to more indie rock or folk -type of music. I love Of Monsters & Men, Mumford & Sons, Imagine Dragons, Paper Kites, Lana del Rey, etc. I also really enjoy Ed Sheeran. He's just so calming and it blends perfectly with the autumnal weather.

Favorite outfit to wear?

Anything with a comfy sweater and skinny jeans. Or sweatpants if I can get away with it.

Autumn treat?

I really can't choose, but it's probably Starbuck's (of course it is) Lemon Loaf. However, they started using La Boulange's pastries and I haven't tried their lemon loaf. I really hope it's just as good or maybe better as the original because it was so good. I don't like weather-specific/seasonal treats like PSL or the Christmas drinks because I start having cravings and I know I can't wait a whole year once it stops.

Favorite place to be?

I can't choose between being outside basking in the crisp air or staying indoors watching a really good movie (coughperksofbeingawallflowercough) drinking coffee whilst in a blanket burrito at night. Maybe being outside during the day, especially around sunset, and being indoors at night. I like that. I'm gonna do that.

So, those are my answers to the autumn tag! Now I'm really restless for Autumn and sweater weather p l e a s e hurry up.

I am tagging Sharlene and Sarah to do this because why not.

Thanks for Reading! If you did the autumn tag also, leave me a link in the comments because I want to hear what you think. Happy Autumn! Bye!

Emmys 2013 Fashion

So, the Emmys premiered on Sunday and I didn't watch it, because I normally don't watch Awards Shows, but I did watch E!'s Live on the Red Carpet. I decided why not talk about my favorite and least favorite looks of the night?

Best Dressed

Rose Byrne in Calvin Klein

I thought she looked gorgeous and stunning. The back is what really sold me. Definitely my favorite look of the night.

Christina Hendricks in Christian Siriano

She looked absolutely gorgeous. It was a perfect look all-around, from the make up to the jewelry to the dress. She definitely needs to give her stylist a raise.

It really does say something that these were the only 2 I really liked. When I was compiling the worst dressed, I just couldn't limit it to 2 or 3.

Worst Dressed

Lena Dunham in Prada

I'm sorry, but this downright ugly. It's a CUSTOM Prada Gown and they couldn't get anything right. Sure the fabric is beautiful and suits her coloring, but the shape is so bad this dress probably doesn't suit anyone. The top has no structure or shape, the waist is too high, and the skirt is so full it's ridiculous. I can't even about the eye make-up

Lily Rabe in Vionnet

I don't even understand how anyone could look at this and think it isn't bad. I hope she didn't pay anyone who was involved in this trainwreck.

Zosia Marmet in Honor

First off, I think this watercolor floral print is gorgeous, but it was utilized so poorly in this gown. The weird leather boobs and yolk are insultingly ugly. Had this print been used in a knee-length sheath dress a la Victoria Beckham, I would like it so much better.

Julianne Hough in Jenny Packham

This fabric was really pretty that I actually wish it was used in a more simple gown. Or at least lined. But that doesn't excuse all the weirdness in the bust. It's tacky and she looks kinda desperate with the sheer skirt and low bust. It's such a shame because I thought her hair and make-up was a personal best.

Jessica Pare in Oscar de la Renta

There is such a lack of effort here it's borderline disrespectful. I really hope she didn't pay anyone for that hair because it's so DIY first attempt and OdlR deserves more than that, even this OdlR. Her boobs look like a smushed Christmas present and where are the jewels? Her show was nominated for an Emmy I think she could put more effort into this.

A Day In The Life | Santa Monica

This past weekend, I visited Santa Monica with my friend. We went to the pier, did some shopping at Third Street Promenade, and took photos. I love the beach, but I especially love Santa Monica's pier and the fact that the Promenade is only 3 blocks down from the beach. The Promenade is an outdoor mall with a great selection of stores. Santa Monica isn't that far away from me, but I rarely go there because it's not as exciting as going every once in a while. It's a very touristy area for sure, but who says you can't be a tourist in your own neighborhood?

Thanks For Reading! Until Next Time, Bye!

Hunger Games Clothing Line

You heard me.

Press Release:

New York, NY and Santa Monica, CA September 4, 2013 – Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF), a leading global entertainment company, and NET-A-PORTER, the world’s premier online luxury fashion and beauty retailer, today announced
an exclusive fashion partnership for “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” the highly anticipated second film of the global blockbuster “The Hunger Games” franchise.
The luxury clothing line “Capitol Couture by Trish Summerville” consists of 16 ready-to-wear pieces as well as jewelry and leather goods inspired by “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” and designed by Trish Summerville, the film’s Costume Designer. The collection will be available exclusively on NET-A-PORTER this fall in time for the film’s worldwide release on November 22, 2013.
“I am extremely proud of the designs that we created for ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ and there’s no partner more appropriate for ‘Capitol Couture’ than the world’s most cutting-edge luxury retailer,” Summerville said. “I can’t wait to share it with the public through this exclusive partnership with Lionsgate and NET-A-PORTER.”
Holli Rogers, Fashion Director, NET-A-PORTER.COM, stated, “When we were approached by Lionsgate to offer the collection by Trish Summerville to our customers exclusively, we jumped at the chance. Our customers take their style cues from myriad sources, from the latest runway shows and street trends to TV and film. Fashion plays an important role in ‘The Hunger Games’ series and is especially prevalent in ‘Catching Fire’, and fans of the franchise will see the film reference in the collection. This is also brilliant fashion in its own right, and we’re delighted to provide our customers with the chance to purchase limited-edition pieces designed by one of the most original costume designers in the industry today.”
Tim Palen, Lionsgate’s Chief Marketing Officer, said, “In the world of ‘The Hunger Games,’ one of the ways the Capitol defines itself is through fashion. When we launched Capitol Couture online (capitolcouture.pn), it took off and quickly became an out-of-world experience for both fans of the franchise and those obsessed with the future of fashion. Trish Summerville’s Capitol Couture collection for NET-A-PORTER is a brilliant, elegant and chic extension of this effort.”
Summerville will be honored this evening as Costume Designer of the Year on behalf of her work for “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” at the 10th Annual Style Awards, which kicks off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York. Summerville has also won the Costumer Designer’s Guild Award for her work on director David Fincher’s 2011 film “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.” She has designed award-winning costumes in music videos from top recording artists including Justin Timberlake, Pink, Janet Jackson and The Black Eyed Peas. Her work can also be seen on Showtime’s “Ray Donovan” as well as in commercial campaigns for Apple, Nike, Heineken, Tanqueray, Volkswagen, Diet Coke and Chevrolet.
“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” stars Academy Award® winner Jennifer Lawrence alongside Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, with Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland. The film is directed by Francis Lawrence, from a screenplay by Simon Beaufoy and Michael deBruyn based upon the novel “Catching Fire” by Suzanne Collins and produced by Nina Jacobson and Jon Kilik.
“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” begins as Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever. The novel on which the film is based is the second in a trilogy written by Suzanne Collins that has over 50 million copies in print in the U.S. alone.
The first installment of “The Hunger Games” was the 14th highest-grossing North American release of all time on its way to grossing nearly $700 million at the worldwide box office.
This sounds amazing, and as a major Hunger Games fan, I hope that these pieces don't disappoint and are in budget. I also hope there's a range of clothing for both males and females. I can't wait for the lookbook to come out. As soon as the photos are released, I'll post them here.
Until next time, Bye!
